Press release of clubs and events at English language Department

English language Department continuously strives to improve the students’ knowledge in the context of the English language. The goal of the department is not only to teach a foreign language, but also to promote students’ development most effectively. English language Department is pleased to inform about new projects, which aredirectedto increase students’interest and motivation in learning English language, to develop teamwork skills and involvement of students in the activities conducted by the Department.The events are aimed:

  • to identify, encourage and support further education of talented young people;
  • to increase the level of language education standards;
  • to develop intercultural communication skills;
  • to improve language competence of students.

We would like to bring to your attention the list of upcoming events in English language department for 2016-2017 academic years.

 This event is aimed to increase students’ interest in learning English through three different formsof activities, improving students’ speaking skills, also to extend the general outlook of students through intellectual games, to develop teamwork skills, and to increase the involvement of students in the activities of the Department.
2. We are smart April 5, 2017 AikenovaA.Zh.

 The international competition of English proficiency for students of non-linguistic majors is aimed to raise students’ motivation in learning English language and English-speaking culture.
3. Public Speaking Contest 2017 April 12-16, 2017 Ospanova D.S.

(team members: Torgayeva A.S., Kungozhanova A.A.)

 The first English Public Speaking Contest to be held at KAZGUU University seeks help young learners to build skills and confidence in communication, and give the opportunity to realize their full potential. These opportunities serve as a platform to engage in an exchange of ideas and opinions on an international scale. It provides students not only with an opportunity to develop the vital skills that enable them to speak with confidence in public, but encounter students from other countries to meet, engage, and form friendships and understanding that will last for a lifetime.
4. Performance (Drama club) April 28, 2017 Turebekova F.A., Tussupbekova G.Ye. The club enables students the opportunity to join in reading modern and classical literature, they will get the opportunity to discuss the works of various genres in a group and individually, to learn to think critically, to analyze, to express thoughts, and more. It is important that at the end of the project, students will be given the opportunity to become a part of the drama, which will be placed in English.
5. “English for Future Leaders” March-April 2017 Omarova Kh.S.

 This program aims to enhance students’ level of English language knowledge, in line with the curriculum, and to develop a number of competencies required for foreign language use in everyday life accordingly.
6. Education Club March 2, 2017 weekly Aikenova A.Zh.

 Education Club provides instructional excellence in a supportive, learning-conducive environment. Learning is facilitated by state-of-the-art educational technology, innovative teaching materials, and a safe and supportive out-of-class learning environment where students can participate in activities that develop their academic skills in English language. Through regular attendance at our Education Club, students are able to enhance their learning and development skills.
