Over 80 applications from the students of Kazakhstani and Russian universities were submitted to the international competition 2017 KAZGUU Student Essay Contest.

The organisers of the event, the English Department of the Higher School of General Education Disciplines, in collaboration with Education First, informed about the official closing of application period.

The aim of the competition is to build tolerance and interethnic solidarity in the student community; encourage a positive attitude to English as a means of intercultural communication; stimulate students’ independent research; and develop academic writing skills.

The results of the competition will be announced on 2 June 2017.
